Working Group on Open Data in Science
Purpose
- Act as a central point of reference and support for people who think they are interested in open data in science.
- Identify practices of early adopters, collecting data and developing guides.
- Act as a hub for the development of low cost, community driven projects around open data in science.
Possible Projects
- Open Data in Science prize
- Unlocking/clarification service: a simple way for people to ask for data to be made open (or have its status clarified)
- Brief summaries of benefits of openness in different domains
- Prepare 1-page summaries of benefits of openness. Some of this can be standard but a good portion needs to be specific to the subject area.
