Supporting the Open Knowledge Foundation
The Open Knowledge Foundation is a not-for-profit organization. All our services and software are provided openly and for free. Running and developing projects costs both time and money (for example, our hosting costs alone run to around a €1000 (£700/$1500) a year). Your support helps the Foundation to continue and expand its work.
You can support the Foundation in a variety of ways from donating money to donating your time. You may wish to take a look at a summary of the Foundation's activities or its projects to get an idea what your contribution would be used for and if you wish you can specify that your contribution go to a particular area of the Foundation's work.
Donating Time
One of the biggest ways you can support the Foundation is by volunteering your time and effort. If you would like to get involved please visit the participate page.
Donating Money
You can make a donation via Paypal, Nochex, direct bank transfer or by setting up a standing order.
If you wish your money to be used for a particular purpose or for a particular area of the Foundation's work please specify that when you make your payment or email info [at] okfn [dot] org. Similarly if you have any problems donating please let us know.
